Valentia Island - County Kerry Ireland
Valentia Island is accessible by a bridge which connects the Island to the Mainland at Portmagee. A car ferry connects Knightstown, the largest of the Island’s two villages, to the Mainland at Renard Point near Caherciveen. The ferry is a shuttle service every 10-12 minutes and operates Mid March to Mid October.

After enjoying your week at the Valentia Island Artist's paint-out please consider driving "the Ring of Kerry", one of Ireland's most famous scenic drives. The route is a circuitious one around the Iveragh Peninsula, a total distance of little more than 100 miles. In three to four hours driving time, each turn takes in a new panorama - rugged mountain passes, pleasant lakeside drives, breathtaking seascapes, pretty villages and a glimpse of rural Irish life little changed in many years.
